Description
Condyline contains podophyllotoxin, a plant-derived compound that acts as a cytotoxic agent (kills unwanted cells). It works by inhibiting cell division and DNA synthesis (stops wart cells from growing and multiplying). Podophyllotoxin binds to a protein called tubulin, preventing the formation of microtubules, which causes wart cells to die off.
This medication is used to treat genital warts on the external genitals. It helps the body get rid of the warts over time by attacking only the abnormal skin, not the healthy surrounding skin.
Condyline is applied directly to the warts, usually twice a day for three days, followed by a break of four days. This one-week cycle can be repeated for up to four weeks, depending on how well the warts respond.
The main benefit of Condyline is that it’s a non-invasive treatment (no surgery or freezing required). It’s simple to use at home but must be applied very carefully, as it can cause skin irritation or ulcers if too much is used or if it’s applied to healthy skin.
By stopping wart cells from growing and helping them break down, Condyline supports your body in clearing HPV-related skin lesions.
